Mytech Culture Experience July 2014

Reflecting on Mytech's value "Set the next person up for success" brings up images of an assembly line or a relay race. As we look back at the month of June, there were many wonderful examples of our staff members demonstrating this value. Mytech's Culture Committee receives all internal requests for recognizing staff that demonstrate our values. This past month we have had 18 requests to acknowledge staff members who clearly demonstrated setting the next person up for success. The fact that we have so many requests also exemplifies another one of our values, "Foster a culture of praise." By embracing all of our values, we endeavor to realize the vision of Mytech Partners, which is to provide the best IT experience in North America.

"Teamwork is the ability to work toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results."
- Andrew Carnegie

Setting the next person up for success is also a foundation of process, where we look at how we work and how we hand off work to the next person in line. One of the questions we ask ourselves is, "Do we have the right information for the next person?" I would like to highlight one of our staff members, Jill Fox. Jill joined Mytech in August of 2013 and was just recently promoted to the position of Receiving/Purchasing Clerk. She has earned this promotion because of her hard work and attention to detail. One of many of her primary responsibilities has been taking customer issues over the phone and communicating to our help desk and, always making sure to ask the right questions. "Is this a new problem? Do you have a prior ticket number? Do we have the correct contact information? Is this an emergency?" Jill is a team player and consistently contributes to setting up the next person for success.

"It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed."
– Napolean Hill

Jill makes sure orders are correct while managing vendor issues, returns, and always pitches in wherever needed. She does all of it well and makes it look easy. Our project team, sales team, and field team all need to have accurate details about products in our system in order to service and deploy and Jill's attention to detail and engagement with our processes ensure that she is setting up everyone for success. We congratulate Jill and are very excited for her in her new role!
