Mytech Culture Experience | Goodbye Too Soon!

Mytech Culture Experience | Goodbye Too Soon!

May 3, 2017

I find myself writing this month’s culture article with a heavy heart. One of our project engineers Jason Ritenour was involved in a fatal car accident this past weekend. If you ever had the privilege to work with him, you know how devastating of a loss this is for his family, friends and our team. He was not only a smart engineer he was a great coworker and friend to many of us. Jason was a perfect example of what it means to embrace life and live it to the fullest. He had the ability to not take himself too seriously, which allowed him to experience life in a way many of us only dream about.

It has been a rollercoaster of emotions over the past several days at Mytech. With the emotional announcement from our CEO on Monday that left many of us in shock and tears, to anger for the senseless act and poor decision of others that ultimately took his life. Then feeling the sense of love that this team had for him with the sharing of stories about Jason in spontaneous conversations throughout the office. We all are grieving in our own unique way in an organization that is allowing and supporting us each step of the way.

You really understand the impact that an individual has on the culture of an organization by the hole they leave when they are gone. Jason will be truly missed, but to honor his memory we can't focus on the hole,  rather we need to celebrate how he lived his life.
